Integration options for publishers

1 min read

Every publisher has a unique ad stack configuration. Over the years, Blockthrough has developed multiple integration options to be able to support different types of ad serving use cases.

These integration types differ in terms of complexity, onboarding times, and yield. Here are the four major types of integrations we offer:

  1. All demand: Our technology sits as a filtering layer for ad-blocked inventory within your ad server. Blockthrough restores all demand types including direct/sponsorship line items, programmatic demand, Blockthrough Exchange, and house ads. This is our fastest, most preferred integration.
  2. Limited demand: In cases where the publisher has direct/sponsorship line items but does not wish to recover them, this integration supports programmatic demand and Blockthrough Exchange only. Blockthrough requires ad server API access in order to apply exclusions.
  3. Blockthrough’s ad server: In scenarios where we cannot directly integrate with the publisher’s ad server, Blockthrough’s ad server can be used to serve Acceptable Ads on their ad-blocked inventory. This integration may require additional steps to be taken by the publisher during onboarding.
  4. Special ad unit integration: This us our least preferred integration option when all other integration types have been ruled out due to operational or technical constraints. Since our team has no direct access to the publisher’s ad server, the QA process for onboarding requires active collaboration.

During onboarding, our Solutions Engineering and Publisher Success teams will guide you on the most expedient integration option based on their technical review of your sites and ad stack.
